As a boarding school student from an early age, I actively participated in various social projects within my school, leading me to recognize the fundamental needs of students in Rural and Government Schools.
Blessed with the opportunity to turn my thoughts into reality, I partnered with the right NGOs. Fueled by a desire to make a difference for peers lacking basic learning support, I established a library at Nirmal Primary School in New Delhi. Additionally, I authored a book titled “Jog in the Fog” with a specialized curriculum aligned with the school’s primary educational goals and literacy objectives.
The success of this initiative inspired me to expand the campaign to rural areas of Guwahati. Collaborating with an NGO for rural schools in North Guwahati, I developed a Spoken English curriculum that complemented the school’s literacy objectives, ensuring a holistic and engaging learning experience. The overwhelming response from teachers and students fueled the momentum of this movement.
To further enrich this remarkable journey, I extended my efforts to schools in the Bamungaon of LankaLanka region in Hojai District. There, I shared a basic Spoken English curriculum, contributing to the broader mission of enhancing educational opportunities for students there.
While I may not consider myself a torchbearer for transforming society, I believe that this small step of mine will undoubtedly motivate and inspire other young minds to contribute towards creating a more equal and better place to live for everyone.
Awareness of maintaining physical health lies, to a great extent, in personal hygiene and understanding basic rules that can prevent health complications. While India’s literacy rate stands at an impressive 77.7%, the quality of education in government schools and rural areas often falls short in fostering health awareness or prioritizing health.
I was proud to have initiated the social initiative ENLIGHTENMENT: HEALTH THROUGH EDUCATION, which was launched to emphasize the importance of mind and body coordination in leading healthy lives. In partnership with Guwahati’s prestigious Apollo Excel Care Group and its Vitality Vigilance Collaborators, we launched a health education drive. Their dedication to healthcare excellence motivated many of us to join the cause. Additionally, the IllumiVision Advocates at Lions Eye Hospital played a crucial role in making this knowledge accessible to the masses, ensuring the initiative reached a broader audience.
The progress of this initiative was further strengthened through the collaboration of multiple supporters, each contributing significantly to its success. Among them were the HemaLife Advocates from Marwari Yuva Manch, the HarmonyImpact Allies led by White Gold Agro Products, and the CaringLink Envoys from the Omprakash Pramila Devi Memorial Charitable Trust. Their efforts in generating funds, providing free supplies, and raising awareness in healthcare were pivotal.
I was honored to lead a group of like-minded enthusiasts in this project’s endeavor, providing basic medical aid through tests, free medicines, and counseling on the importance of personal hygiene. This initiative undoubtedly benefited countless individuals. Personally, it left me with invaluable knowledge and tools that will remain etched in my mind as I embark on the next chapter of my life: acquiring undergraduate education in another country.
